Dr. Ruslan Hassan is the Professor (Civil and Environmental Eng.) and also the Research Fellow at the Malaysian Institute of Transport (MITRANS).He has been on the Faculty of Civil Engineering since 1980. He was the Hon. Research Fellow, Birmingham University, UK (1991).

Dr. Ruslan Hassan taught graduate level courses in Environmental Assessment, Air Pollution and Environmental Management, among others. He is the author of Environmental Pollution: Assessment and Management (UNIVISION Press) and more than 100 papers and technical reports.

Dr. Ruslan’s current fields of active research include Sustainability Design of Basins, Buildings and Transportation. He is an EIA Registered Consultant.

He is a Fellow Member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (F.I.E.M), Fellow Member of Technological Association of Malaysia (F.T.A.M), Fellow Member of Malaysia Scientific Association of Malaysia (F.M.S.A), Fellow of Geological Society, London (FGS), Fellow of Academy of Sciences Malaysia (FASc.) and Fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers (F.A.S.C.E).

Dr. Ruslan is currently the President of Confederation of Scientific and Technological Associations (C.O.S.T.A.M), President, Malaysia Senior Scientists Association (MSSA) and Vice-President of I.E.M.

He was the Past President of T.A.M. (2003-07) and has served as a Board Member of Malaysia (BEM)(2004-09). He is a Professional Engineer (Ir) and Asean Certified Professional Engineer (ACPE). He was the recipient of IEM Tan Sri Yusuf (2000) and British High Commissioner’s Awards (1991). He was appointed as one of the Trustees of the Construction Research Institute Malaysia (CREAM-CIDB) since 2006.

The Researchers :

Md Farid Jaafar, more than 10 years of experience working in logistics & supply chain. Graduated from MARA University of Technology in Business Administration, starting his career as a management trainee for Kontena Nasional Berhad, Malaysian biggest container haulage company. He is specializing in freight, inventory and distribution while working with several multinational companies like Federal Express (FedEx) and Texas Instruments Malaysia. He also has an MBA in Logistics. His area of interest; green logistics, global freight management, inventory, supply chain, distribution and freight analysis. He is currently working with a Malaysian government-linked company under Supply Chain Division.

Roslina Ahmad, graduated from RMIT Melbourne as Landscape Architect and pursuing her Master studies in Environment at University of Putra (UPM). Starting her career as consultant with International Consultant and joined Airport sector for past 13 years. She has vast experience in planning, environment, management and operation. Her interest in research is in economy efficiency towards Green Economy.
